Scheurebe is a crossing of Riesling and Bukettrebe (until 2012 thought to be Silvaner), that is well established in several German wine regions. It is one of the popular aromatic varieties.

It was bred in Rheinhessen and named after its breeder, Georg Scheu, who created this new variety in 1916. Initially Scheurebe spread across Germany and covered 4.4% of vineyard area, yet today it represents only 1.4% (2019).Primarily, it is planted in Rheinland-Pfalz.

The wines made from Scheurebe are full-bodied, have pronounced acidity and a bouquet and taste reminiscent of black currants, peach and ripe pear.  Often fermented as a noble sweet, but increasingly also as a dry wine.

Perfect with Asian food and cheese, also unbeatable as a stimulating, refreshing aperitif and summer terrace wine.
